Build 'em-up-knock-em-down rock institution NME declared 'the third summer of love could be over almost before it's begun' this week, after Home Office Minister Caroline Flint warned magic mushroom sellers they're probably breaking the law.

The magazine performed their unusually quick U turn just two months after urging their readers to 'turn on, tune in, drop out and get 'shroomed up, as the Third Summer of Love kicks off' after Ms Flint told the Independent she considered 'the supply of magic mushrooms, as prepared or as a product, such as selling imported, packaged mushrooms in shops, as the supply of a Class A drug'.

With 'shroomadelica' now over, the next, next big thing appears to be bands inspired by 'the quixotic spell of The Libertines', NME added.
