Ministry's Chief Executive Mark Rodol announced he's leaving the clubbing corporation this week, declaring in a press release 'the time is right for me to move on and to look at new challenges'.

The marketing expert was the key executive responsible for building Ministry into the biggest international clubbing brand though in recent years the club's fortunes have faded as club culture stepped back from the mainstream. Two years ago, Rodol told the Guardian 'the super DJ and the superclub game is over' and was similarly pessimistic when closing the once highly profitable magazine Ministry.

'Dance music and the scene that surrounds it has changed. It's not about taking lots of drugs and losing your mind in a dance club while waving glo-sticks," he told the Observer.

"Dance fans are much more discerning these days - they're just as liable to listen to garage and rock music."
