Michael Mayer, the pin-up boy of minimal techno, the figure-head of independent record distributor, Kompakt, and a truly inspiring DJ and producer, is set to tour Australia and New Zealand in late January 2005. And my word, we are excited!!

Michael Mayer is sits at the helm of the European 'minimal techno phenomenon' and is credited by many for 'making techno interesting again'. With his Fabric mix CD last year and a residency at the club since, he was propelled from his important position in the electronic underground into the broader dance music community. But for those in the know, it is his earlier mix CDs such as 'Immer', and his instant-classic productions such as 'Love is Stronger than Pride' and 'Speaker' that have earned his stripes' not to mention his inspiring DJ sets that dominate cyber space and the club floor.

With over 13 years experience as a DJ and producer, and through his own unique style of 'shuffle-house' or whatever you want to call it, he will inspire and influence crowds across four exciting shows' two in Melbourne; at Honkytonks (Jan 25), and at the Rainbow Serpent Festival (Jan 23); one in Sydney, for Glitch (Jan 28), and a final show in Auckland at Fu Bar (Jan 29).

Michael Mayer's debut solo album, 'Touch' is in stores now, and is making waves across Europe and the rest of the world through its complexity and diversity.
