Lewisham Police issued a fresh appeal for information about the killing of Brett Youngs this week, a year after the free party reveller was found dead at a burning squat in Lewisham, South East London. The new appeal came as North London cops announced a £7,500 reward to help solve the murder of 20 year old clubber Wajahat Sheikh, who was beaten to death two years ago at a Miss Dynamite gig at the Kings Cross Scala.

30 year old Brett Youngs (who DJed under the name Dead Silence and Fear Teacher for rigs including Pan!k and KDU) was found dead by firemen responding to a blaze in Northbrook Brook on May 27 last year. A subsequent post mortem revealed he'd died of head injuries.

Lewisham Police are seeking a man described as 'approximately 26, white, of scruffy appearance' with a brown Dobermann dog to help them with their enquiries, who was spotted in the area at the time of the killing.

In North London, meanwhile, police issued a fresh appeal to witnesses who attended Cookies And Cream at the Scala on May 19, 2002 to come forward, to help solve the horrific murder of Junaid Wajahat Sheikh. Mr Wajahat was beaten to death on the dance floor during the event, though according to press reports at time, so many fights occurred that night that police failed to find a breakthrough, despite interviewing 480 witnesses.

"Were you in the LA Scala Club that night- Did you see the victim- Did you see any incidents involving the victim- Do you know who assaulted the victim-," the police ask in their new appeal.

"A £7,500 reward is now being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder."
