Jim Stanton, who runs ultra-trendy London eclectic-electro nights The Cock and Horse Meat Disco, chatted to Skrufff this week and revealed that both clubs are actively aiming to attract straight clubbers alongside gays.

"All clubs were queer once, at least all the ones worth remembering, though queer to us means outside the norm," Jim explained.

"We're definitely not into zonal club politics, that's one thing I don't like about the gay scene in London, you seem to be so defined by your look as opposed to your capacity to have a good time," he said.

"I wouldn't even want to talk about straight people spoiling the 'vibe' because its bollocks. We want everyone to come to the club and have a good time; who cares who you are or who you fuck-"

While his Friday night italo-disco/electro weekly The Cock is beginning to attract similar levels of acclaim as Nag, Nag, Nag did last year, Jim also co-promotes anything goes musically monthly Horse Meat Disco with ex Nuphonic mainman James Hillard. The duo shortly re-launch the event as a Sunday afternoon/evening affair at Dukes in Vauxhall with Luke Howard headlining on 1st February (between 1pm and 1am).

"We held a New Years Day Horse Meat Disco party at Dukes and got bears, muscle boys, Nag / Cock types, fash mag kids and a really cool old school gay crowd," said Jim.

"This is what it should be about; it brought tears to our eyes because we felt at last we'd created something unique and alternative. We're the alternative, alternative."
