Kashpoint King Goes Hooked On Classics

London club impresario Matthew Glamorre is reviving his acclaimed classical nightclub the Siren Suite this weekend, taking over Turnmills' Top Floor bar every Sunday.

The Kashpoint promoter will be maintaining both his eclectic music policy (name-checked composers range from Bach to Stockhausen) as well as strict dress code, with 'smart dress' required.

"Smart dress means no scruffy jeans or T shirts because I'm tired of people looking like they're out to clean the club rather than attend it," Matthew told Skrufff this week.

"This club is free entry for all and the music is of such quality that we feel it is only proper to impose the restriction of Sunday Best. Any shirt, jacket and trouser combo will do for boys; girls have more sense than to wear 'day looks' out."

In its previous incarnation, Siren Suite attracted celebs including Daryl Hannah and Debbie Harry, and Matthew insisted he's expecting a similar calibre of guests this time round.

"Classical clubbers as such don't exist, however there is new kind of discerning audience who have seen through the sham of current 'entertainment'; older & more intelligent people who are seeking new ways to be challenged," he said.

"And yes people dance; of course they do; it's impossible to sit still to Borodin."
