Japanese Brides Seek Mail Order Brits

A Japanese dating company Destina Japan opened offices in London last week, reportedly to cater to massive demand amongst Japanese women seeking to connect with British men.

According to reports in the UK press, the Japanese women are paying up to £3,500 for introductions, apparently on the assumption that British blokes are "more understanding and more romantic' than Japanese guys and are seeking highflying bachelors earning more than £50,000 annually, the Daily Telegraph reported.

However, certain cultural differences could still pose problems, the paper suggested, including the delicate matter of coping with a blocked nose.

"Don't blow your nose in front of her, especially at the dinner table" the newspaper warned, "It is almost as rude as burping or breaking wind."

Their advice could fall on more than a few deaf ears, however, since according to a survey published in the Observer last year 29% of Britons "see no shame in farting indiscriminately'. Even worse, not all the high earning executives could be quite what they seem, according to another recent survey for pizza firm Freschetta which suggested that 46% exaggerate their status when meeting prospective lovers, particularly concerning jobs.

"Those of the men who did lie tended to pretend they ran their own company," the Standard revealed. "Or drive a Ferrari and had been out with hundreds of women."
