Punx Soundcheck/ Droyds producer John Taylor will be DJing at Ibiza superclub Space's opening party this May, John told Skrufff this week, kicking off what he expects will be an electro packed season on the island.

"Everyone knows the score about the opening of Space, it's most DJ's dream gig and I've been booked to play electro on the main floor, which is great for me and great for electro too," he said.

"Electroclash is definitely going to break through this year, it's taking over from house," he predicted.

"I'm getting DJ gigs up and down the country as well as abroad and it's sneaking into places you'd never have expected it to pop up in. Last season I even played electro at Eden at Lisa Lashes' hard house night (Lashed In Ibiza)."

The London based producer is currently working with Soft Cell legend Marc Almond and recently remixed tracks for Dead Or Alive, Atomizer, W.I.T. and The Most and significantly is more than happy to be called electroclash.

"I consider the music I make to be electroclash, I don't it's a bad word at all," John insisted.

"It's what I play."

In darker news, Spanish separatists ETA warned this week that they're planning a series of bomb attacks on Mediterranean holiday resorts this summer with Ibiza specifically included as a possible target.

The News of The World said Spanish authorities have responded to the threat by asking local British consulates to suggest likely targets where Brit tourists could be attacked.
