Italian house star Junior Jack (aka Vito Lucente) has cancelled all DJing commitments until further notice after doctors discovered the he's suffering from 5 stomach ulcers.

The hugely successful producer (who released last year's biggest dance record Make Luv under the name) Room 5 has been due to play a high profile gig at the Miami Winter Conference, though remained at home, after collapsing two weeks ago on the way to a Ministry Of Sound gig in London.

"Vito has definitely got 5 ulcers and is in convalescence," a Defected Records spokesman told Skrufff.

"He is expected to make a full recovery but will be taking things easy."

Stomach ulcers are small holes in the stomach or small intestine, which cause heartburn style pain, often night. Causes include excessive drinking and smoking, though factors like poor diet, skipped meals and stress can also be contributing factors, according to information on medical website Mamas Health. Vito's latest health problems come just a few years after he narrowly escaped death in a fatal car crash which killed a close friend.

"I was paralysed almost completely, both my legs and both my arms and they put my neck in a metal frame," Vito told Skrufff in an interview before Christmas.

"Before I had the operation the doctor told me 'maybe you're going to leave this hospital in a wheel chair' maybe you're never going to walk again', though now you'd never believe that I had this accident."

He also recently enjoyed his latest top 30 hit in the UK with Da Hype, an electro-disco anthem he recruited The Cure mainman Robert Smith to sing on.
