Every week, a group of friends get together, have a few drinks, play some tunes and give Melbourne an easy going party vibe of the house variety.

On The passion and dedication that the Soul'sa crew put in is evident the minute you catch a glimpse of any one of the three behind the turntables. James Rochlin (James Rocklin), Andrew Imrie (Blondi), Lachlan Cameron (Locky) make up the Soul'sa three and Friday 23rd January the crew are rockin' on down to Honkytonks.

If you are ready for a genreless fusion of party sounds that make you want to get up on the dancefloor and shake it, well these three lads are just the thing you need on a Friday night. Oh and they get a whole five hours to travel through the depths of house, techno, funk and soul...

What can you expect of the Soul'sa sound-
The boys tried to define their sound in an interview with Francine Sculli:

We usually try to avoid putting labels on it…always seems to sound too wanky." Andrew and James take a stab at trying to describe it: "Raw quality- Pretty wanky!" says Andrew. "Good music," proclaims James before friend and general PR man Richard interrupts in good nature "definitely wanky!" As some sort of indication a few names are dropped; anyone for a bit of Detroit tradition, Masters at Work, Theo Parrish, Moodymann, Derrick Carter or Derrick May- Or would you prefer a taste of Andrew's and James' summation: "Rare grooves and disco of the sonic variety, hip-hop (mainly classics) and we still love to play unconventional techno" thrown down with some "disco loops, jazz and live instrumentals" … mm...

hmmmm, INDEED.
