Hed Kandi Do Miami On The Cheap

Hed Kandi chief Mark Doyle chatted to Skrufff this week the day before he set off for Miami's Winter Music Conference and revealed he'll be staying in a 'fleapit hotel'.

"It's company policy to fly economy class and stay in the cheapest hotel possible, there's non of that rock & roll lifestyle at all," said Mark.

"Excess is what kills record companies, all that 'I want a limousine, I've got to fly business class and I've got to stay at the Delano' nonsense," said Mark.

"When it comes down to the realities of booking a room in Miami that you're only going to spend three or four hours a night in at most, paying eight hundred dollars for a room when you can get one for $149 is just a little bit silly. We're like 'we'll fly economy and stay in a fleapit but we'll still be able to release records in two year's time."

Mark will be hosting Hed Kandi events at Bed and The Shore Club (on Saturday and Sunday) as well promoting the label's new priority act Stonebridge and the latest CD in the massively successful compilation series, Beach House.
