4th September 2004

Yes folks, it isn't quite summer, but September marks the end of winter, so it means we're only a few months short of our favourite time of year.

TransAtlantic is about good times and great music featuring the forefront of techno, tech-house, beats and electronica in a comfy, warm, club-based environment. This edition promises the great sound not found in warehouse-style events of late and two of our favourite producers from Sweden; Adam Beyer with his hard-hitting tech-phunk and Joel Mull with his emotional tech. Also in support is the DEA LIVE, Melbourne's psychotic duo showcasing their 'new' sound of slower tribal-tech.

ADAM BEYER (Truesoul, Drumcodes: SWEDEN)
Adam Beyer needs no introduction. The Stockholm based techno icon was part of the new-wave of techno producers to emerge and featured alongside Cari Lekebusch and Christian Smith at Hardware 13. Adam Beyer is still young and plays across the planet weekly to packed houses. His fusing style of techno, the Detroit sounds of UR and tech-house grooves has seen his Drumcodes label continue, whilst his more melodic and experimental Truesoul label emerges focussing on more conceptual projects and full length albums. Adam Beyers last album, 'Ignition Key' was a fantastic artist album to world acclaim. 3 decks of madness Stockholm stylee to be heard...

JOEL MULL (Inside, Drumcodes: SWEDEN)
Pin-up boy Joel Mull is a more melodic Stockholm figure, collaborating regularly with Adam Beyer, Peter Benisch and Jesper Dahlback. His DJ skills are tight and his sound is a reflection of the music he makes. With influences like Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode, his digital techno soul are Hardware favourites and he has featured on almost all the Hardware CDs. Fusing electro, techno, robo and sci-fi, Joel Mulls sounds are infections, pumping and to an extent, a touch trancey and hypnotic which makes Joel a Richie Rich and Hardware favourite last seen at Hardware 19 alongside Adam and Peter Benisch LIVE.

THE DEA live (Melbourne: AUSTRALIA)
Call it Voodoo techno- Not anymore, cause John Barker and Richard Sekessan have come back with some tasty flavours of tech-phunk and techno soul. Slowing down from their earlier frantic sounds, the duo have a showcase of new material on the tribal, tech tip after storming performances last year at Summadayze, Two Tribes and Hardware. Prepare for a fun, funky, entertaining extravaganza...
