Golf Sale & Drama "Divide Gay Mafia'

The Sunday Times' trend-spotting section Style branded Golf Sale and Drama as key destinations for London's "faggerati' this week going on to suggest both clubs have radically restructured the gay scene in the capital.

"The tribe formerly known as the Gay Mafia has divided into two new movements; the old school (disco bunny, muscle mary/ leather daddy) and the cool new electroqueer (tranny fag/ twisted weirdo crowd)", said the Times, splitting the two groups between each club.

The paper name-checked Alexander McQueen and Jake Arnott as "new school' Golf Sale regulars, with "Old Schoolers' Elton John, Nicky Haslam and Patrick Cox often at "mad-dress up Drama'. However, Drama chief Terry Hart told Skrufff that although he was flattered to be mentioned, he found the feature amusing rather than enlightening.

"I thought the article was fucking hilarious, actually," said Terry, "it was a classic page filler for the Chelsea and Home Counties brigade."

"Elton and his boyfriend and Nicky have never even been to Drama," he added, "and to be honest, the piece is so inaccurate, without any research apart from presumably a few words from the journalist's friends, all I can say is "whatever'," he laughed.

Golf Sale's status is due to close in the New Year when the promoters split up and Dan transforms the club into a new incarnation called Wasted Youth. The new night kicks off on January 2 and will run until 1am each Sunday (compared to the current 11.30pm curfew). Terry from Drama has also just launched Cuckoo Couture, which runs every Wednesday at Soho nightspot the Shadow Lounge.
