US electro-house producer Felix Da Housecat has denied recent claims by Miss Kittin that he ripped her off over payments for her vocal part on Silver Screen Shower Scene telling DJ mag this week that he's only just been paid for the 1999 club anthem himself.

However, the electroclash pioneer was otherwise notably uncharitable, declaring, "Kittin was quiet and sweet when I met her, there wasn't any bitchiness or attitude, but I think she's one of those girls who likes to make music but doesn't like the business."

"I think the way the business abused both of us turned her into a bitchy diva, like a beast. That's what makes her whole aura and persona," he told DJ Magazine.

In more cat-related news, a series of adverts for the Chicago producer's new album Devin Dazzle & The Neon Fever began appearing in the UK press this week, which indicate he's finally come up with a new genre to follow electroclash. As early as 2002, Felix was disowning the genre in the the London Times, declaring "electroclash is going to get big, but by the time it does I'll have walked away and done something totally new," while last week he told Mixmag 'What fuelled me to make 'Devin Dazzle' was being labelled electroclash- I had to prove I could get away from that label' (Mixmag).

Quite whether his new genre will have quite the same impact as electroclash has done remains to be seen, but the future (according to the ads) is finally here and its called 'post-new wave disco soul'.
