Chicago house legend turned born-again Christian Farley Jackmaster Funk, whose Love Can't Turn Around track was the first house record to become a worldwide hit, made the record solely to try and attract more girls, he admitted this week.

"Man, after that record came out, I had harems, it was ridiculous," Farley told Skrufff.

"I blew my mind, it would blow anybody's mind," he confessed.

The first superstar of house admitted he'd lost touch with reality when the record took off in 1986, admitting 'I lost all sense of who I was.'

"When I'd look in the mirror I'd stop seeing the person I used to see, I'd see the image I wanted to see, because all these girls were flocking to me," he recalled.

"I wasn't the best looking guy around and I was overweight, so there had to be another reason these girls were coming on to me, but you start thinking they want you because you look so good," he added.

"Though of course, it's not about that at all, it's because people are drawn to success and power positions. I was the DJ in the club and I was the guy with the most notoriety so of course girls would gravitate to me. I ended up losing all touch with reality."

Farley was chatting to Skrufff to help promote Trax 20th Anniversary CD (featuring Love Can't Turn Around and many more original house classics). He'll also soon be touring around Europe again.
