DO YOU LIKE SCARY MOVIES-

EYESCREAM Halloween Short Film Festival

Melbourne: Saturday 6 November, from 6.30pm.
At: F4 Club Level 2, Hub Arcade, 318-322 Little Collins Street, Melbourne
Tix: $10 (+$1 bf) pre-booked through MCA Ticketing (1300 306 776, www.mca-tix.com) or $13 on the night.

Come along for a night of fright as EYESCREAM celebrates Halloween with the best films from the 2004 Competition.

For the first time in Melbourne, EYESCREAM will be presenting the 14 best from a total oF 60 entries; covering the breadth of the darker genres, with everything from stylish thrillers, schlocky horrors, and wickedly black comedies. Amongst the lot are two short films from Victoria: TOP SHELF, directed by Marta Tesoro; and PHIZZOG, by Sally Gross. Coincidentally, both films are animations celebrating the darker side of celluloid.

The films are in the running for a massive prize pool, with several categories being offered. This includes the 1st Prize, as chosen by a panel of judges. This year they include Linda Jaivin (author of 'Confessions of an S & M Virgin', and regular Critical Mass panelist), Andrew L. Urban (urbancinefile founder, and host of Front Up), Marc Fennell (DVD Reviewer on SBS' Movie Show, FBi Radio 'movie guy'), and Des Mangan (self-proclaimed Eurovision expert, and SBS' Cult Movie Presenter).

Melbourne will get the chance to choose its own favourite short film, with a $500 voucher from Jeans West, plus some other goodies going to the People's Choice. There will also be plenty of lucky-door giveaways for non-film-makers alike, with 'Dawn of the Dead' (Rated MA15+) and 'Godsend'(Rated M) DVDs from Universal.

The big night will be on at F4 Club. Guests who attend EYESCREAM will be able to party on into the night, with F4's Nasty following straight after.

10% of all ticket sales will be going to YBBLUE - the youth arm of beyondblue: the national depression initiative. Special EYESCREAM souvenir T-shirts, dontated by mutual YBBLUE supporter, Jeans West, will also be on offer, with the money going to this very worthy cause.

Check out the website at www.eyescream.info for all of the latest details, including information on all of the finalist and 2nd Scoop short films.
