Disgust Diminishes For Russia's Kissing Criminals

Upcoming moves by Moscow authorities to jail people caught kissing on the city's underground could backfire, judging by a new poll examining changing Russian attitudes to public displays of affection.

According to Russian polling agency VTSIOM, 1 in 5 Russians now feel 'joy' when spotting couples kissing in public, compared to 1 in 8 who felt the same in 1998 (Reuters).

One person who wasn't presumably polled in the latest survey was frequent visitor Tasty Tim, who told Skrufff before Christmas that he's a big supporter of the Underground kissing crackdown.

"I've been on the underground system in Moscow and it's a truly wondrous experience," said Tim.

"The splendour and the pomp; the chandeliers and marble; it's like being in some grand state ballroom; not your average London experience that's for sure. Mosco'ws got great clubs, a fantastic underground system, oh yes did I mention the most beautiful men- And no yukky public displays of affection- hoorah."
