New York Police Commissioner Raymond W Kelly was criticised this week after he ridiculed Sound Factory's drug dog Fanta, following the latest raid on the Manhattan superclub.

The Commissioner told a post-bust press conference that the seven year old black Labrador had been 'asleep on the job- as usual', prompting an angry response from Fanta's trainer Stephanie Kramer.

"I was very upset about that, I e-mailed the Commissioner about what he said. That was an unfair statement," Ms Kramer told the New Yorker.

"You have to understand, the club was so slow that night," she explained, suggesting most Sound Factory regulars had slipped off to Miami.

"So, yeah, she was sleeping. Am I supposed to tell her to stand at attention-"

In more bad news for New York club-land, four revellers collapsed at Club Exit last weekend (March 13), according to local press reports, with at least two rushed to hospital unconscious.
