Underwater chief Darren Emerson chatted to Skrufff about his new digital download site Trax2burn.com this week and revealed he believes MP3 downloads are 'the way forward for music."

"This the MP3 situation has been hanging around for a long time and you've just got go with it; it gets your records out there a lot quicker and a lot further, by charging just a small amount of money," said Darren.

The former Underworld producer teamed up with fellow dance don Fatboy Slim to launch the site, though stressed its musical policy will be far wider than the club culture both come from.

"If its good music we'll pull it out, it doesn't necessarily have to be dance music - there might be a time when I want to start up another label which might be a bit more alternative and put it on the site, we're really open to new things," he said.

"I've always been open to experimenting with music, even when I was in Underworld I liked experimenting with guitars and indie stuff. I think you'll be surprised by the new music I'm working on," Darren predicted.

He doesn't, however, envisage experimenting too radically with his public image, unlike some of his erstwhile contemporaries.

"Do I have any plans to do a Dave Clarke and start wearing eyeliner-" he chuckled.

"Errrrrrrrr. No."
