DJ Magazine ridiculed US house hero Roger Sanchez this week in an unusually aggressive preview of his Release Yourself event at London's Turnmills.

"The man with an ego the size of a detached, double fronted house with a driveway, front and back garden and garage is doing the entire night," they sneered, "that's eight hours folks."

The soulful house don, Ali G lookalike (and black belt Shotokan karate expert) is unlikely to be too concerned however, certainly judging by an interview he gave to Australian magazine 3D World several years ago, just after his Toto sampling single Another Chance topped charts around the world.

"One minute I'm the saviour of house music the next minute it's Roger Sandwich," he said.

"They (the UK press) just like to take the piss sometimes, but you've gotta' learn to take it; it's part of being an artist. You've got to develop a sense of humour."

Sanchez is also about to release his latest mix CD Release Yourself- Volume 3, a double disc compilation that includes tracks from Ben Watt, Basement Jaxx, and A Tribe Called Es.
