Could Candi Staton's End Be Nigh-

A plague of locusts of biblical proportions is threatening to devastate sub-Saharan Africa over the next two months, echoing Candi Staton's recent predictions that the end of the world is approaching.

According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), clouds of locusts could stretch up to 6,000 km across Africa by September threatening food supplies in 23 countries.

Chatting to Skrufff last month, the soul legend and born-again Christian revealed she firmly believes in biblical prophecies predicting that humanity is facing imminent Armageddon, declaring 'the signs are everywhere.'

"War, earthquakes, children killing children, the internet; everything is way out of proportion. This world cannot last in the state it's in for much longer. Something has to change," said Candi.

Assuming the world doesn't end just yet, John Truelove will be releasing a new version of her seminal rave anthem U Got The Love, shortly, after the track featured on the very last episode of TV show Sex In The City. Candi's latest album (a retrospective compilation of 60s blues/ soul tracks called simply Candi Staton) is also out now on Fame/ Capitol Recordings.
