London acid tekno champion Chris Liberator set off for a 3 week tour of Australia this week and told Skrufff before he left that he considers Melbourne to be his absolutely favourite city in the world.

"I'd love to live in Melbourne, the city's big enough to accommodate whatever you're into, plus it's climatically a bit more like here, plus it's arty and there's a real underground scene going on there. Culturally it's better than Sydney, I think, which tends to be a bit more corporate," said Chris.

"If Melbourne was nearer I would love to live there, maybe not now but at some point in the future."

The Stay Up Forever, squat party figurehead also said he always enjoys visiting South American party hotspots Brazil and Venezuela though revealed he'd feel too uncomfortable with the class divides in each country to ever consider living in them permanently.

"A lot of people I know have moved to Brazil such as Julian (Liberator) and Jerome (Hill) and I visit Venezuela a lot too but there are always lot of problems you have to deal with, particularly the poverty and the fact that society is fucked with no easy solution available to change things, however socialist you want to be about it," said Chris.

"Brazil has a better economy than Venezuela but the levels of poverty there still upset me whereas here in England there is an underclass who get fucked (over) and don't have much money but they're not that fucked over compared to poor people living in places like Brazil and South Africa," he added.

"When you visit those places, you're one of the privileged people when you're there and there's just no getting away from that fact."
