London electro-disco duo Bones & Ramsey tore into house culture this week, telling Time Out that electro fans are more intelligent and "much better looking than house crowds'.

"Electro never exploded like house did, it always managed to keep quite held back, never getting over-hyped, which is a good thing" said (Gower) Ramsay.

"House became formulaic; it's as though everyone decent has moved onto different music. Electro nights are harder to promote, mind, but what Damian Lazarus has done is incredible. He turned around the music scene almost all by himself."

Damian launched both City Rockers and more recently Crosstown Rebels and chatting to Skrufff earlier this year admitted he'd been directly inspired by the stasis in house culture.

"It was about the end of boring house music and the need for something fresh and people like Felix and Tiga were instrumental in that,' said Damian.

"Mental Groove in Switzerland, Gigolo's artists, they were all basically saying "we've had enough of this shit, we've had enough of boring 4/4 funky house music' and I felt very much the same.

"In everything I've always done I've always tried to find the next thing, I've never been complacent enough to stick to one particular sound. What's happening now is a new form of house music, one that incorporates techno and breakbeats and its deep and it's quite druggy, but there are also accessible angles," he added.
