Ayia Napa Authorities Abhor Boat Party Orgy

Scores of young Brits holidaying in Ayia Napa are facing imminent arrest by Interpol, after being caught on film taking part in a boat party orgy this week just outside the island's territorial waters.

Undercover cops photographed lurid group sex scenes onboard a cruise ship chartered from Ayia Napa, the Guardian reported, which later appeared on Cyprus TV.

"These scenes are not just graphic they go beyond every conceivable limit," said local police chief Sotiris Haralambous.

"We are talking about 50, 100 people involved in acts of total debauchery. It's hard even to describe."

The scandal broke just a week after a 19 year old Scottish student was left in a coma after being viciously beaten in an assault in the heart of Ayia Napa.

According to local press reports Douglas Nelson became separated from his friends on his very first night on the island and was found critically injured and semi-comatose in a churchyard at dawn, just yards from Ayia Napa's monastery square.

A 20 year old Englishman was subsequently arrested following the attack.
