After being removed from Melbourne's Bubble nightclub early Sunday morning, three men wielding a sawn-off shotgun and a Samurai-type sword, terrorised a couple in their car. It is alleged that the couple were responsible for the men being thrown out of the club.

Trains and trams were blocked at Spencer Street as police searched for the three men, the man with the sword was arrested soon after.

One of the men reportedly used the butt of a sawn-off shotgun to smash the window of a car in which the woman was sitting. It is reported that the firearm was discharged during the incident, but police have not yet found any spent cartridges.

Police are still looking for the other men and are calling for witnesses.

The police also deny that weapon-wielding nightclubbers is a new worry for police.
"These incidences occur from time to time, and we deal with them as they come up, but it's not something that happens all the time."
