New York super-producer Armand Van Helden will be DJing in London for the first time in two years this weekend and also unveiling his new proteges electro-punk beauty queen duo Spalding Rockwell.

The strikingly beautiful 25 year old girls first met 10 years ago at an Upper West Side champagne party and started visiting New York's house clubs together, Nicole told Skrufff this week.

"I started going to clubs from the age of 13 so I knew Armand's work, but only casually," she said.

"Then we met Armand a year ago, we all got along really well, and afterwards we downloaded a bunch of his songs then immediately knew who was."

Van Helden's best known production remains his genre crossing remix of Tori Amos' Professional Widow, though his new collaboration with Spalding Rockwell is radically different. While The Guardian dubbed it 'punk/rock/house', Nicole preferred the label 'super-pop-dance' ('it's one of the poppiest songs we've ever made, you can play it anywhere," she said.

New York electro-man Larry Tee, who's heavily championed the band via his Mogul Electro CDs in the last two years also highlighted their flexibility, and told Skrufff he remains a huge fan.

"What I like about Spalding Rockwell is their ability to take the best of every genre and mix it all up in their own special style. Teaming up with Armand is a fresh idea because new wave house is becoming the rage internationally," said Larry.

"And Armand knows how to collide different types of music together. Hats off (respect- slang Ed) to anyone who can build a dance classic around the sound of a hacksaw."
