American Metrosexuals Become Heteroflexibles

Metrosexuals ('heterosexual men just gay enough to be really desirable as a straight') are increasingly turning gay, according to several media reports published in the US and Australia this week.

"If metrosexuals made you nervous in 2003, hang on to your pore strips," warmed Susan Maushart (The Australian).

"2004 looks set to be the year of the heteroflexible - a person who prefers to identify as a heterosexual but remains open to better offers- in other words, gay in parts."

Vanity Fair also suggested meterosexuality is changing, in their latest In & Out tipster column.

"Are sneakers with a suit OK-" is out", they decreed. "Am I totally gay-" is in."

Meanwhile in New York, over one hundred men flounced around Manhattan wearing frocks, miniskirts and tutus last weekend, in a coordinated demonstration against the 'tyranny of trousers'.

"We're not transvestites, homosexuals or cross-dressers and we don't want you to call us Jean or Sally," chief demonstrator David Johnson told the New York Times.

"We're men. Men who want the right to wear a skirt."
