British techno type Ade Fenton chatted to Skrufff again this week and revealed that his worst fears came true at a recent gig in Brazil.

The make-up wearing producer/ DJ owned up to being terrified of spiders last November and revealed a fellow DJ had warned him about fist size spiders in Sao Paulo.

"The last time we spoke I was just about to go to Brazil and a DJ friend of mine Glen Wilson said to me 'beware of the spiders at a party I was booked to play at," said Ade.

"I said 'what the hell do you mean-' and he said when you go in the DJ booth look up.' I thought nothing more of it, went to the place to do a soundcheck, looked up at the wooden roof and saw at least 50 spiders as big as my fucking hand."

Ade said he'd almost had a panic attack on seeing the blue and yellow 'big as tarantulas but with thinner legs' which were sitting on beams just six feet above his head.

"I said to the promoters, I really hate to do this to you but if you don't get rid of those spiders I'm not playing'," he confessed.

"The guys were initially really teasing me about it then they saw I was getting genuinely upset; my legs actually started to go, it was terrible. So five or six guys spent the next two or three hours sweeping all these spiders away with broom handles."

Ade also revealed he's now finished his long awaited artist album which includes vocal contributions from Gary Numan and is 'radically different' from the techno he's currently best known for, he insists. The album is pencilled for release early next year.
