A Prince Tribute: the night formerly known as the Slap Shack
There ain't no party like a Prince party...Let's go CRAZY.

Prince stands as the most influential pop artist of all time, inspiring everyone from Tricky to Andre 3000 to Green Velvet. It's 20 years - yes, 20 years - since Prince unleashed his blockbuster Purple Rain and tonight the Slap Shack is painted purple with DJs playing props to the purple royal. This ain't another Prince tribute - this is THE tribute to end all tributes.

Don't even think of rocking up unless your ass is dressed in purple or you're dressed like one of the members of the purple court - take your pick, Jerome, Wendy & Lisa, Diamond & Pearl .... First selector of the night Cyclone ("I wanna be Cat when I grow up!") revisits purple proteges - Prince classics recorded by anyone from Vanity 6 (Nasty Girl) to Apollonia (Sex Shooter) to Sheena Easton (Sugar Walls, whoa, baby) to Sheila E (The Glamourous Life) to Carmen Electra (say wha-) to rare remixes of all your Prince favourites.

Sasha Perera ("Watch out Morris Day!") gets into the spirit with all the Prince hits - and lots of The Time - including the raunchy ones that Tipper Gore got stickered.

Ant J Steep ("My name is Ant and I am sho nuff fonky") reinvents Prince as only he can with sneaky mash-ups. And Angela Maison ("watch me shake my booty like Sheila E") gives it up to the artists inspired by Prince - from Moodymann to Pharrell to Amp Fiddler.
