MIXED BUSINESS - is a portable exhibition space for music and art, featuring 3 of Australia's finest.
DJ Simon Caldwell, producer Mako and visual artist, Jay Ryves.

MIXED BUSINESS is a collaborative cd series that provides (visually) a vehicle for modern artists to show their work outside the confines of a gallery space and (sonically) allows DJ's to work alongside producers to explore a timeless mix of music unhindered by the usual demands of being current or trendy, and with the fullness, direction and 'complete' sound of a produced album.

This seductive mix brings together the funk of Edwin Starr, with the schmooze of Kenny Hawkes, the gospel of Nat Adderley, with the modern soul of Amp Fiddler with a whole lot of sonic exploration in between.

Weird Gear tonight HANDS THINGS OVER TO THE LOCAL GROCERY. THAT'S RIGHT, THE MIXED BUSINESS TOUR FEATURING SIMON CALDWELL, MAKO AND ARTIST JAY RYVES.

Throughout the 12 years SIMON's been playing records to beer drinkers, bum shakers and radio listeners alike, he has managed to avoid the stifling 'style' classification so many other DJ's trap themselves into, keeping himself free to draw on his varied loves of deep, soulful house, techno, funk, jazz, electro, booty, hip hop and anything else which catches his ear. MAKO is the Master of Tiny Sounds - a creator of music so beautifully intricate and detailed that it instantly stands out as something unique in an age of beats-by-numbers.

FOR AN UNPRECEDENTED VERY FIRST TIME THE HONKYTONKS PIANA WILL BE LAID OUT FOR A SEVEN HOUR CHALLENGE!!!!!!!
