Mark Bell, the Depeche Mode and Bjork producer better known as acid house legend LFO, has returned to his original 1990 persona to release a new single and album coming out in August and September.

Both records are being released by his original label Warp Recordings, and come some seven years since his last LFO project Advance came out.

Judging by new single Freak (out on August 26) Bell appears to have gone back to his acid house style basics, mixing acid tinged electro grooves, with robotic style vocals (chanting 'this is going to make you freak') and mind tweaking bleeps and boops. Warp's promos are single sided and single track though judging by the quality and energy of Freak, the prospects for LFO's album are highly promising. Bell also performs live as LFO around the single release date in Manchester on August 23 and New York on September 6.
