London Fetish club promoters Torture Garden are launching a weekly Burlesque style event Boom Boom Saloon at Camden's Purple Turtle next weekend (Friday 12th, offering free swing dancing lessons, casino table service and pole dancers.

"We think swing dancing is hot and couples dancing together is back," Allen TG told Skrufff.

"All that 'grab your girlfriend by the hair and swing her around kind of stuff'."

The club launch details were released just as the UK Sunday Times ran a breathless feature on nightlife trends which declared 'burlesque club nights are the hippest new thing on the party scene'. Allen, however, stressed their new night will be avoiding the cover-up restrictions associated with the original style.

"There wont be any straight up burlesque shows or fan dancing at our night, we prefer to do things in a slightly twisted way," he explained.

"Burlesque was around in a time when you weren't allowed to show much flesh which obviously isn't the case now. The performers we have, such as the girls of Scarlet Mews, put a more rock & roll slant on it with modern soundtracks."

Boom Boom Saloon is open from 7pm till 2am (with free swing lessons from 8-9pm) @ Purple Turtle, 65 Crowndale Rd, Camden, London.
