Matt Elliot, the producer formerly known as the Third Eye Foundation, has returned to using his real name, to release an incredibly melancholic though delightful new album called The Mess We Made.

"In the shittest of shit times, you can't always rely on friends, in these unhappy and even tragic times, you may well be unsure who to turn to," Matt suggested, explaining the album's theme.

"For those lost, crazy days, we all need a little help, an unjudgemental shoulder to cry on and it's for situations like these that 'the Mess We Made', a musical companion, was born."

The Mess We Made is almost certain to reduce all it's listeners to tears within 9 minutes, though it's worth pointing out that Britain's most famous wartime figurehead Winston Churchill was renowned for crying at the slightest unhappy event.

"Humans may be untrustworthy and uncaring but music can always be relied," Matt darkly concludes.

The Mess We Made is out on Domino on April 21 and is preceded by the first single Borderline Schizophrenic.
