Glastonbury Festival organisers have doubled security for next weekend's event in response to the increased threat posed by terrorists, according to a report in The Observer.

"Given the international climate, we have set up measures to combat a terrorist attack," said Deputy Operations Director Mark Cann.

"There is a major incident plan (in place), co-ordinated by all the local agencies (police, ambulance, fire services etc)."

Glastonbury's enhanced security precautions were announced days after British authorities unveiled proposals to train nightclub bouncers on how to spot suicide bombers. According to a report in the Telegraph, the new scheme could also mean thousands of club security staff are trained how to deal with chemical attacks.
