COCO DA SILVA SHIVA CHANT

KISMET
KMT0176
In-Stock: 15-07-03

After experiments with hard disco and deep house Rui Da Silva and Chris Coco go for an Indian/tech/ambient feel on their latest collaboration - The Shiva Chants.

It's a clash of ideas that reflects the very different styles that Rui and Chris play out. Rui's precise, uncompromising use of percussion and sense for perfect minimalism is fused with Chris' feel for atmosphere and melody to create a tune that is more of a soundtrack than a dance record. The beautiful repetitive string line that, along with the percussion, drives the track along, which was created by Sacha Puttnam who conducted the orchestra on Hybrid's first album.

It's a long, moody and moving piece. The sort of deep, strange house record that might feature at the end of a Chris Coco ambient/lounge set; and at the start of a Rui Da Silva tribal/beats workout.

This excellent warm-up / wind-down record from Chris Coco and Rui Da Silva is getting plenty of plays from Pete Tong, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Tom Stephan on their radio shows and out in the clubs and festivals.

Needs to be heard! DO NOT MISS!

Vapour Recordings prove themselves yet again to be one of the most consistent progressive house labels of our time. New signings to Vapour, Flying Camel, deliver this monstrous big room number, laced with Eastern Promise.

The A-Side 'Shmuel Flash Remix' utilises wicked percussion loops and deep bass, as moorish chants filter in and out throughout the mix. It builds to a spaced out atmospheric breakdown, where everything cuts to half time, then smashes back into the full mix till the finish. Quality as ever from the Bedrock signings. Flipped by the original mix, which opts for a deeper groove, spacing things out but without loosing momentum, with both of these mixes being heavily supported by Anthony Pappa & Kasey Taylor for over 6 months. Get on this tune!!
