Space's resident Sunday resident DJ Steve Lawler has announced details of a new compilation CD Lights Out 2, following 12 months after his first such mix CD attracted bizarre criticism from now defunct dance magazine Muzik.

"They've got it so wrong. They call CD1 'progressive; what-' I usually don't let reviews bother me but I don't think they've listened to the album," Steve told Skrufff at the time.

"And CD2's gone electroclash because there's one record on there that samples an electro riff! Please."

"Muzik are now tagging me as an electroclash DJ because I put one fucking record with an electro sample on my mix album. It's disappointing," he added.

Steve's new CD is unlikely to be branded electroclash by any of the remaining dance magazines (its predominant theme being house) though Eric Kaufman Vs Jet's My Girlfriend Is A Robot, has a distinctive electro beat. Other standout tracks include club classics like Alcatraz's Give Me Love and Jay Dee's seminal rave anthem Plastic Dreams (re-edited by Lawler as the CD's last track).

Lights Out 2 is released on Global Underground in October.
