Steve Bug Polishes Gigolo Jewel

German techno-electro pioneer Steve Bug has remixed British duo Freaks' new single The Creeps, which promises to be the next big record for DJ Hell's acclaimed indie label.

While the original sits firmly within the electro-punk style nowadays synonymous with Hell's label, Bug's remix is decidedly more minimal, reflecting his own ambiguous take of the trajectory taken by electroclash.

"On my last album I did a couple of 80s sounding tracks but I think a lot of the electroclash records sound too cheap and too cheesy for me," Steve told Skrufff in a recent interview.

"They've got very simple basslines and stupid vocals and I'm not into that at all."

Freaks- The Creeps is released on September 15.
