Shane Neil, the 22 year old So Solid Crew member recently arrested for gun and crack dealing charges, cried uncontrollably during a court hearing this week, where he applied for bail. Neil (aka Keesha) was remanded in custody by the court and sent back to jail and will be due to appear in court again on January 17.

His prospects for leniency if convicted look even bleaker, however, following a horrific American-style machine gun shooting in the West Midlands on New Years Day, in which two 18 year girls were shot to death and two others wounded.

The four girls were shot as they stood outside a party, prompting British politicians to immediately announce that they're considering introducing 5 year minimum, mandatory sentences for anyone caught in possession of a gun. Both Neil and his band mate Jason 'G Man' Phillips, who is also currently on remand facing gun charges, could easily by made examples, suggesting both could face lengthy jail sentences if found guilty. Fellow Crew man Asher D is also in jail after being convicted of possessing a loaded pistol though was sentenced to just 18 months when convicted last March.
