Alternative news and club e-zine Skrufff-E celebrated its second birthday this week, as the weekly magazine published their 105th issue.

"We've grown almost entirely through word-of-mouth and supporter links, almost entirely beneath the mainstream media radar," said Skrufff chief Jonty.

"Which suits us perfectly, because we're interested in attracting and keeping long term like-minded subscribers," he added.

The magazine is popular with music industry types as well as electronic music pioneers including Yoko Ono and the Tom Tom Club and is also read by many key club faces including The Chemical Brothers, Judge Jules and Underwater chief Darren Emerson. The e-zines have also attracted the cream of the electroclash scene, with their regular coverage of the still expanding phenomenon.

"We love the whole vibe around electroclash, particularly its emphasis on dressing up and not taking yourself too seriously," said Jonty.

"It makes going out so much more fun when people have made an effort- it's also not about designer labels which anyone with money can buy- it's about balls- the kind of people who will go home on a night bus dressed in bin liners, covered in make-up".

"But we're also still committed to covering club culture and electronic music in general, whether that's house, hip hop, techno, whatever," he added.

"Clubbing provides one of the few ways people can meet and connect in today's increasingly uncertain world and remains an incredible medium for bringing people together. Dancing all night is fantastic fun and having fun should be a central part of everybody's lives. Fun is never frivolous."

Taoist faith-healer/ Skrufff spiritual guru The Barefoot Doctor continues to contribute weekly pearls of wisdom joined by new columnist Mark Moore, of S Express fame.

"We're delighted to have Mark on board, he's opinionated, passionate and totally immersed in club life," said Jonty.

"And Barefoot seems to know the answers to everything, from mending broken hearts to whether George Bush really is evil (he is). We might add more columnists in the future but the plan remains to keep skrufff tight developing it steadily for the long term."
