Seven welcomes 'The Custard Crew'

The three musicians that make up the outfit The Custard Crew' are newly formed but combined have over two decades worth of experience. Raised and born in vastly different countries the fusion between Italian, Singhalese, and Australian adds for mix of music that spreads right across electro, hip hop, jazz, funk, soul, disco and jacking house cuts.

Dj/Producer Matt Schumacher's whose reputation for diversity has secured him gigs at raves, clubs and warehouse parties and some of the coolest private parties around playing alongside some of the world's greatest including: Derrick Carter, Armand Van Helden, John Cutler, Knee Deep, Joeski and Deep Swing to name a few. Matt has consistently pushed the boundaries of house.

Dj/Producer Nicky G comes from an extensive musical background first hit the Melbourne scene in 1995 where he honed his skills @ private parties. Nicky's unique style of instrumental soulful grooves with a twist of deep percussive sounds bringing influence from Deep Dish, Frankie Knuckles, Timerider, Terry Lee Brown, Masters at Work and Mato & Mateos he was quickly recognised. Nicky travelled overseas and played in various clubs through Europe including Mad in Mykinos and Koala Max in Italy.

Darren Roberson has been playing bass guitar for over twelve years. He has studied engineering for about four years and is slowly being recognised as a wizard by all in the studio.

Together they have built a formidable reputation through their highly energetic and enthusiastically recognised performances and productions. They have recently just remixed a single by a Sydney outfit, 'Brock Hilton' called 'Dial L for love' for Australian label Vicious Vinyl. Exhibiting their unique style of electro fat house beats mixed with soulful melodic rhythms that are seamlessly mixed. Abiding by a philosophy where house music has no rules, The Custard Crew pushes the boundaries and their status has been heightened by the combination of inspired and energetic sets together with live instruments.

The Custard Crew will play at Family at Seven on Saturday May 24 alongside the Family Music Machine.
