Chris Coco categorically denied rumours he's planning to become a new Jamie Oliver style celebrity cook this week, telling Skrufff "I'd love to be a chef but I don't think I'm good enough."

The Radio 1 DJ's culinary interests emerged following an Ibizan photo shoot with Judge Jules, Pete Tong and Dave Pearce during which he told Mixmag "DJing's quite like cooking, actually, in the way you combine lots of good ingredients to create a masterpiece."

Chris also denied that Mixmag's labelling of him as Chris de Coco was in anyway connected to him coming out as a toff.

"I do hang out with toffs though, I've been hanging with the Rothschilds recently," he admitted.

"They're groovy people who I just happen to know."

He also confirmed he'd enjoyed his trip to Ibiza, telling Skrufff "it was both hedonistic and relaxing depending on what you want. It's a really great place, it's like one of the great cities, like New York, yes, it goes through phases but you always know it's going to be good in its own way."

Ibiza's a funny place because it gets so much press and so many people talk about it but because of the nature of the island it never really changes that much," he added.
