Prince Harry Hair Plot Not Connected With Drug Abuse

A bizarre plot to snatch a lock of hair from Prince Harry had no connection with the young redhead's well publicised drug taking past, according to curious reports that appeared in the British media last weekend.

The unusually weird story (even for the Royals) concerned allegations that Sir Michael Peat, Prince Charles's private secretary, had contacted the police about a plan by an unnamed media organisation to snatch hair from Harry's head, to investigate persistent gossip over Harry's true lineage. According to the Sunday Times and Mail on Sunday, a nubile teenage girl was to be used as a spy-style 'honeytrap' to pluck some of his hairs, which would then have been DNA tested to determine the young prince's parentage.

According to subsequent media reports, Royal press officers refused to confirm any of the story.
