Fisherspooner's #1 Get's US Release incl.Remix by Junkie XL

#1, the brash, flashy, sexy, pulsing and slightly warped debut album from boundlessly imaginative NYC duo Fischerspooner, will be released in the U.S. on February 25th with bonus remixes and videos, as well as a groundbreaking full-length DVD (entitled DVD #1) featuring the group's self-produced film work, their breathtaking music videos, live footage, documentary, projections and other surprises, marking the first time a major music project has been simultaneously released on both formats in one package.

Musician/filmmaker Warren Fischer and lyricist/performer Casey Spooner made their debut as Fischerspooner in an East Village Starbucks, playing one song and quickly drawing the attention of tastemakers in the city's music, art and fashion scenes. As their performances got bigger and bolder, Fischerspooner's supporting cast grew to include scores of dancers, singers, artists, filmmakers, choreographers and designers.

Fans clamored to find the limited edition, eight-song CD that was being sold at hip NYC outlets, design stores and modern art museum shops around the globe (all of which is included on #1). The album featured a diverse palette of synth-driven songs including "The 15th," a melancholy take on the post-punk-era Wire classic; "Turn On," a sexy romp partially inspired by the explorers Lewis and Clark; and "Tone Poem," a minimal electronic ballad written around lyrics Casey found handwritten inside the cover of a 1895 physics textbook.

Fischerspooner's first single, an electronic anthem of a mission statement called "Emerge," came to the attention of Munich's International Deejay Gigolo records, which released a limited-edition version of the CD that became an immediate underground hit in Germany.

Now dubbed #1, the debut album was released in the U.K. in 2002 with new songs like the elegantly sinister "L.A. Song" to a flurry of publicity. NME called FS "The best thing to happen to music since electricity," the band performed "Emerge" on BBC's "Top of the Pops" and appeared again this month with Kylie Minogue for their hit remix of her "Come Into My World" single, and by the personal request of David Bowie, Fischerspooner appeared in his Meltdown Festival at London's Royal Festival Hall. FS were also nominated for four U.K. Muzik Dance Awards: Best Single, Best Video, Best Live Act and Best Group.

Fischerspooner's #1 will be released in the U.S. on February 25th with a new Junkie XL remix of "Emerge" and an updated 2003 version of the track's stunning video. The CD package will also include a full-length DVD (DVD #1), featuring their breathtaking self-produced videos for "Emerge," "The 15th" and the acclaimed short film "Sweetness," all commercially available for the first time, plus exclusive documentary footage, seven unique video projections from their legendary live performances, biographical material, photos, as well as the #1 album in its entirety.

Furthermore, users will be able to move album tracks and some of the exclusive remixes from the DVD to their PC desktop, and can also burn tracks to CD or move to portable devices.
