Powercut Shuts Fabric

East London mega-club Fabric was forced to evacuate their premises last weekend after a powercut plunged the entire block into darkness.

The power failure, which occurred just after midnight, was caused by an electrical failure at a local substation and meant the Smithfields club had to abandon the entire night's entertainment. Erland Oye and the Plump DJs had been headlining the Fabriclive event, which remains one of the club's most popular nights.

A Fabric spokesperson told Skrufff this week that the evacuation proceeded smoothly and added that all tickets holders are being fully refunded. The club and area was back to normal in time for the following night.
