His decision to switch to blonde ABC style floppy locks coincides with the upcoming release of his long awaited Plastikman album Closer, which he told DJ magazine had been inspired by his recent break-up from his long term partner.
"It's detached and it's about the things in my head, (it's about) being cut off, isolated and alone."" he explained
"Instead of making a soundscape for people to lose themselves in, it's more like being locked inside my own head."
New single Disconnect is out on September 29 on Novamute, followed by the album in October.
