Frightening predictions that the Earth will be devastated in May by a mystery 12th planet called Planet X, are incorrect, according to techno/ house star producer Chris Cowie.

The Bellboy Recordings chief and part time Skrufff science correspondent began investigating the story after spotting some links on Skrufff-E last Autumn, which suggested the arrival of Planet X would cause the Earth's axis to shift and stop rotating, prompting overnight worldwide devastation.

"I thought there was a real possibility of this happening because I did remember a NASA scientist saying on TV that there is the possibility of a hidden Planet (or more precisely a Brown Dwarf) just outside our Solar System," said Chris.

"However, if there were to be a polar shift, then the earth's crust would actually melt, and if the planet stopped rotating we would all start floating up into Space," said Chris.

Taking time out from working on the album of his long term associate US DJ Christopher Lawrence, Chris revealed he spent 36 hours researching Planet X, during which he uncovered some genuinely scary issues.

"The people who believe this stuff are truly mental; one guy I read about has packed in his job in Australia and moved the whole family to Canada," he revealed.

"And he's not the only one. I read about marriages that have been broken up because either the wife or the husband totally believes this is going to happen, families moving from various countries, selling houses, stocks etc persuading elderly parents to move. Very sad stuff really."

Chris concluded his generally uplifting report with one proviso: "I don't think you want to know about the relatively large Black Hole, which is on a direct collision course with our Solar System . . ."
