Paul Van Dyk's Boat Comes In

Superstar German DJ Paul Van Dyk has signed a £5million deal to star in a series of TV adverts promoting Motorola mobile phones, according to Radio 1 DJ Dave Pearce.

"It's all happening for him at the moment," a 'close friend' told Pearce (Daily Star).

"He's barely got a minute of his own."

The hugely popular trance/ techno star grew up in East Berlin listening to his favourite bands the Smiths and New Order and fell into DJing by accident, he told Skrufff in a previous interview.

When I started Djing, the DJ was freak in a corner playing music while other people were having fun," he said.

"Obviously there are some DJs who behave like superstars these days and I sometimes get called one. But I don't think I am one, I just make my music and I love making music- I think it's very important to remember to keep you feet on the ground."
