Over 50 Die in Us Club Chaos

In another dreadful week for American nightlife 21 people died in a Chicago nightclub while at least 30 more revellers were killed in a fire at a heavy metal gig in Rhode Island.

The 21 victims in Chicago were killed after a stampede occurred when security allegedly used tear gar to break up a fight. Chicaago Mayor Richard Daley announced he's bringing criminal attempt charges against the club owners, following allegations that the E2 club, in Chicago's Southside, shouldn't have been operating.

The Rhode Island fire happened at a Great White rock concert and initial reports suggested it was sparked by pyrotechnics linked to the band's performance.
