Holier-than-thou electronic producer Moby abandoned his God-fearing turn-the-other-cheek policy this week to launch a savage verbal assault on the British media.

"Journalists are just depressed po-faced gits (idiots) who sit at home and do nothing but criticise people that actually work for a living," he raged in an interview with (Australian) writer Tim Duggan in Revolver.

"Especially in the UK. I have no patience for journalists in the UK because they are so arrogant and self congratulatory and none of them are making the world a better place."

Simultaneously in the (UK) Sunday Times, Sarah Baxter wrote a feature comparing the balding New Yorker with his nemesis Eminen, which concluded 'he's so PC (politically correct) it hurts.'

"I know Moby's a nice guy; sensitive, thoughtful, kind to animals and all that," she added.

"But, oh Eminem, just take a chainsaw to him".

Moby's new single 'Sunday (The Day Before My Birthday)' is out on Mute on March 3.
