Legendary Jazz and blues singer Nina Simone has died, aged 70, at her home in France. Simone's voice will be known to many dance punters thanks to Layo and Bushwacka sampling her voice from 'Rags and Old Iron', for 'Love Story'. Simone, who was a passionate supporter of civil rights in America, came into the mainstream public consciousness with hits such as 'My Baby Just Cares For Me'.

Aside from possessing a unique voice, she was also a huge songwriting talent, writing tracks that would be covered time and time again. 'Young Gifted and Black' and 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood' being just two examples.
